My New Mommy Mobile

As some of you may have seen mentioned in some of my most recent FB posts, last Saturday I became the proud owner of a brand new mini-van! To me the preceding sentence is quite funny, because I grew up in a family of SUVs and station wagons with the firm belief that minivans are uncool and unsafe, and until last year I swore I would never get one!

But then...Toyota decided to come out with their new 2011 Sienna! Dubbed the "swagger wagon" and with slogans such as "mommy like, daddy like!" this new STYLISH AND

EXTREMELY SAFE minivan is the answer to all of us who previously hated minivans but also

were in desperate need for a vehicle that could hold multiple child seats and still have comfortable room for more than 2 adults and all the "stuff" we have to haul around especially when travelling! This new vehicle is also perfect for those of us who want to drive like the responsible adults we are trying to become, but also want some get up and go and a seriously awesome turning radius from a seriously large vehicle! Not to mention the fact that this VAN gets the same gas mileage as my HYBRID SUV, which I have now passed on to my hubby. Add to it the backing camera, XM radio/CD player, DVD player with wireless headphones for the kids, tri-zone AC system since we all seem to like the car a different temperature, and you have my new source of pride and joy that is perfect for transporting the most important sources of pride and joy in my life!!!!!

So without further adieu, though I could go on and on about how much I LOVE this

SO NOW YOU MAY BE THINKING...THIS CAR IS SO GREAT IT DESERVES A NAME!!...

So what have I decided to name this fabulous addition to our family (after all cars play an important role in our family's safety, ability to do what we need and want to, and we spend quite a bit of time in them so why shouldn't they be named!)...AND THE NAME IS...(drum roll....)

Blue Baleen Queen (or BB Queen)

Now I know you are probably scratching your heads and saying: WHY!?...well...

1.the car is blue, a brilliant TEAL BLUE to be exact...Toyota calls it Pacific Blue

2. the car is huge, but also very graceful...like a whale!

3. the car's primary purpose is to help me take good care of my kids and be a good mom...again like whales who are pretty darn good moms!

4. Baleen whales (my van) are generally larger than toothed whales (my SUV), and females are bigger than males! This group includes the largest known animal species, the Blue Whale.

So just like this Blue Whale from Finding Nemo, which seems big and harmful at first, but is in fact the key to Marlin and Dory's success in reaching Nemo...my new car is one key to my success in being the best mom I can be because my kids will be SAFE and COMFORTABLE and I will be HAPPY, SAFE, and COMFORTABLE which is a good thing for everyone!

5. When I drive this car I feel like a queen!

6. Kind of a takeoff of BB King, I just really think BB Queen is a cute nickname for a car!
