As 2010 has come to a close and 2011 has started with some rare, but very enjoyable, family time in FL, I have been thinking about all the amazing things and milestones that have occurred in the past 12 years or so. You may ask why 12 years, well...
in 1999: I met my wonderful husband (and in many ways this is when my life as I know and love it began!)
in 2000: Philip and I began dating/officially became boyfriend and girlfriend!
in 2001: Philip graduated from college and began law school!
in 2002: Philip and I got engaged!
in 2003: I graduated from college,Philip and I got married, and our first canine child, Fenway Sox Woodward, came into our lives!
in 2004: Philip graduated from law school, we moved to NC and bought our first house, and we adopted/rescued our canine daughter, Zable Tribe Woodward!
in 2005: We made the decision to become parents through adoption rather than risk me being pregnant and it was BY FAR THE BEST DECISION EVER!!!!
in 2006: Our most precious little girl, Isabella Juliana Woodward, was born and we adopted her at 11 days old! (I also started work on my graduate birth-Kindergarten teaching program online)
in 2007: We took a break and caught our breathe, and then started the adoption process again!
in 2008: Our little man, Carter Cristopher Woodward, was born more than 6 weeks early, the same week we were told his birthmother had picked us to be his parents! We adopted all 5 lbs of him when he was still about a month away from his due date!
in 2009: We helped plan out and had our dream house built in Knightdale, NC; successfully sold our old house for a profit despite the recession; and moved into our new house!
in 2010: I graduated from my graduate program [including finishing my student teaching (the most hectic 5 months of my life], got a new pacemaker, and we began the adoption process for a third time!
...who knows what 2011 will hold?!...hopefully we will become parents again to another little girl...I will become a "van mommy" (something I swore I never would do until I fell in love with the Toyota Sienna)...we know Bella will start Kindergarten (but not yet where she will go) and we will become an aunt, uncle, and cousins to Uncle Wo and Aunt Murt's baby boy....WHO WE ARE ALL VERY EXCITED TO MEET AROUND VALENTINE'S DAY!
